Critical Care in Malawi is underdeveloped. Working in an environment such as the ICU has taught me a lot about my profession and shaped my views about quality of care.
Effective teamwork is imperative for health care improvement. Effective teamwork has to be multidisciplinary.
VOLUNTEER PRECEPTOR: KAMUZU COLLEGE OF NURSING.
MARCH 2018- CURRENTLY
We must be the change we want to see. My practice as a nurse in the ICU taught me so much. I could not manage to do everything I wanted for my patients even with adequate knowledge of what needed to be done. Often time the workload is just overwhelming.

I noted a big gap in the training of nursing students in the ICU. Th environment can be traumatising to new personnel, So students need as much support as they can get. So i offered my services to help the College with the clinical teaching of student in the ICU in QECH.
Critical Care in Malawi needs more trained personel, Our ICUs are the closest we have to perfect critical care.
